Picture the coziness of a cozy blanket on a cold afternoon, that’s the sensation these Baked Apple Fritters are sure to provide for you and your family. Coming from the core of American culture, these small treats are a tribute to our fondness for apples and a healthier version of the traditional fried fritters. I have met many families who love apple desserts, and these fritters are a great mix of comfort and practicality, without the added oil from frying. Whether you’re planning a family get-together or just looking for a delicious dessert after Sunday dinner, these Baked Apple Fritters will bring happiness and the cozy smell of cinnamon and apples to your kitchen.
Baked Apple Fritters are delicious by themselves, but they are even better with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a special treat. If you want something light, you can eat them with a bit of Greek yogurt or a little honey on top. And, of course, a nice dessert wouldn’t be the same without a cup of hot cider or a warm cup of coffee to finish off the meal.
Apple pastries baked in the oven. Serves 6 people.
List of items needed to make a recipe.
– 2 big apples, peeled, and cut into small pieces – 1 1/2 cups regular flour – 1/4 cup white sugar – 1/4 cup brown sugar – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 2/3 cup milk
– 2 eggs, beaten gently – 2 tablespoons of butter, melted – 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract – Powdered sugar for sprinkling (if desired)
Instructions
1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a big bowl, mix flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In another bowl, mix together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
4. Carefully mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just combined. Avoid mixing too much; it’s fine if there are a few lumps.
Mix the chopped apples into the batter until they are spread evenly.
Put 1/4 cup (or less if making smaller fritters) of batter on a baking sheet, leaving enough space between each fritter.
Put in the oven that has been heated beforehand and bake for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown and the middle is firm.
