Directions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin slices or wedges, depending on your preference.
- Season the Potatoes: In a large bowl, combine the potato slices with minced garlic, a generous amount of grated Parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of oregano, and a pinch of red pepper powder. Mix well to ensure each potato slice is coated.
- Coat the Potatoes: Add a few tablespoons of corn starch or potato starch to the bowl. Toss the potatoes until they are lightly coated. Drizzle some olive oil over the potatoes and mix well.
- Bread the Potatoes: Spread bread crumbs on a plate. Press each potato slice into the bread crumbs to coat both sides.
- Bake the Potatoes: Arrange the coated potato slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are not overlapping. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Prepare the Cheese Sauce (Optional): While the potatoes are baking, prepare a simple cheese sauce by melting butter in a saucepan, adding flour to make a roux, then gradually whisking in milk until the sauce thickens. Add grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce and stir until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
